BSKX 4071 Art Photography (30.0 hours/$120.00)
This course is an introduction to photography within an art context. How does your camera work? We will review some technical aspects of shutter speeds, aperture, light meters. We will consider some Photo Art history and the issues of agenda, audience, and criticism. There will be some projects to improve your skill through making personal photographs. From high end professional to simple point-and-shoot cameras will work for this course.

PHTC 1011 Fundamentals of Digital Photography (56.0 hours/$180.00/$25.00 Lab)
A non-darkroom course that explores how to operate, understand, and better utilize a conventional film or digital SLR camera. Introduction to the proper use of photographic equipment such as flash, light meter, and filters to enhance picture taking. Study and practice of lighting forms, composition, posing, and exposure determination. Students must provide an acceptable adjustable digital SLR camera or SLR film camera. Point and shoot cameras are not acceptable. Students will learn to use either Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or the current version of Adobe Photoshop to edit images for digital output in class in the Apple Macintosh environment.

PHTC 2001 Intermediate Photography (56.0 hours/$180.00/$25.00 Lab)
A digital based Intermediate Photography course that builds upon the PHTC 1011 Fundamentals of Digital Photography. Emphasizes social, portrait, studio, fashion, theatrical, publicity, and event photography. Student will work both in the studio and on location. All output is digitally based. Student must provide a digital camera capable of capturing in the RAW format. Students will use either Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or the current version of Adobe Photoshop to edit images for digital output in class in the Apple Macintosh environment. Students must have completed PHTC 1011 prior to registering for PHTC 2001.

PHTC 9000 Photography: Beginning (20.0 hours/$120.00)
Teaches you to take better, more interesting images. Topics include composition, filters, flash, and all types of general photography. No darkroom. Please bring your 35mm film camera or your digital camera. There will also be a field trip.
