Oracle Certifications

These courses prepare students for certification exams from Oracle, the world’s largest enterprise software company. As a member of the Oracle Workforce Development Program, all courses are led by certified instructors and include official Oracle course materials. Students must be enrolled 10 workdays prior to class start date to be assured book availability at start of class. ** May Qualify for Financial Aid-Contact (512) 223-7547** ITNW 7030 Oracle 10g: Forms Developer OCA/OCP Series (144.0 hours/$2170.00/$600.00 Lab)
Participants will learn a top-down, systematic approach to database development using entity-relationship models, normalization and relational database design. The student will use this approach to identify and define business information requirements and to transform the requirements into an initial database design. On successful completion of the course, the participant should be able to understand and create entity relationship models and first cut database designs. Registration in the Oracle Developer Series guarantees you a seat in all three courses: ITSW 1007 -Introduction to SQL, ITSW 1073-Oracle 10g Developer: Program with PL/SQL and ITSW 1074-Oracle 10g Developing Applications. The Oracle DBA Series and Oracle Developer Series start with the same course, Introduction to Oracle 10g. This course is taught on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. When this course is completed, students in the Forms Developer Series will then meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Prerequisites: General computer knowledge including database concepts.

Earning your OCA credential will give you recognition for your foundation of knowledge using Oracle technologies and to act as a team member working with database administrators or application developers. Registration in the OCA Series guarantees you a seat in courses: ITSE 2009 Introduction to SQL, ITSE 2056 Oracle 10g Administration I and ITSE 2058 Oracle 10g Administration II.. Prerequisites: General computer knowledge including database concepts.

In this course students learn how to write PL/SQL procedures, functions and packages. Working in both the Procedure Builder and the SQL*Plus environments, participants will learn how to create and manage PL/SQL program units and database triggers. Participants will also learn how to use some of the Oracle-supplied packages. Prerequisites: ITSW 1007-Introduction to Oracle 10g: SQL.

In this course students build and test interactive internet applications. Working in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment, students learn to customize forms with user input items such as check boxes, list items, and radio groups. They also learn to modify data access by creating event-related triggers. Prerequisites: ITSW 1007 Introduction to Oracle 10g: SQL, PL/SQL and ITSW 1073 Oracle 10g Developer: Program with PL/SQL.

This is the first course for administrators of the Oracle Application Server 10g. Students learn the basic tasks, which will enable them to effectively administer, monitor, and secure an OracleAS 10g environment. You learn how to use the Web-based Application Server Control to manage OracleAS instances. Prerequisites: General computer knowledge, including database concepts.

This course covers Oracle 10g flashback technology, configuring and using Recovery Manager, monitoring and managing storage, managing resources, monitoring and managing memory, dealing with database corruption, and automating the tasks with Scheduler. Demonstrations and hands-on practice reinforce the fundamental concepts to prepare the student for the Oracle Certified Professional Exam #1Z0-043. Prerequisites: ITSW 1007 Introduction to Oracle 10g SQL and ITSW 1054 Oracle DBA Administration I.
