Quality assurance principles and applications. Includes quality control and Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulations to the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, and biomedical device industries. Integrated with college credit BITC 1240.

BITC 2031 Cell Culture Techniques (112.0 hours/$224.00/$24.00 Lab/$3.50 Insurance)
A study of cell culture techniques. Laboratory emphasis on the principles and practices of initiation, cultivation, maintenance, preservation of cell lines and applications. The student will perform aseptic cell culture technique; demonstrate cell culture skills including harvesting, counting, and subculturing of cell lines; perform cell cloning techniques, multiwell culture, and selected cell culture based assays; perform basic cell preservation procedures in liquid nitrogen; and practice laboratory safety. Integrated with college credit BITC 2431. Prerequisites: Coordinator approval - 512.223.7271.
