FLMC 1304 Lighting for Film or Video
Lighting techniques for 16 mm film and video production. Prerequisite: RTVB 1305.

RTVB 1305 Introduction to Television Technology
Selection and application of production supplies and equipment. Digital and analog signal concepts and their use in production and the theory, application, and internal operation of television production equipment.

RTVB 1321 TV Field Production
Pre-production and post-production process involved in field television productions. Topics include field camera setup and operation, field audio, television direction, and in-camera or basic continuity editing with an emphasis on underlying principles of video technology. Prerequisite: COMM 1336 and RTVB 1305.

COMM 1335 Introduction to Radio and Television
A survey of the principles and trends involved in radio and television broadcasting, cable, and the other electronic media, including programming, regulation, business practices, and international telecommunications. Activities in analyzing various types of radio and television programs.

COMM 1336 TV Production I
A study of basic television production as it applies to live studio programming. Beginning instruction is offered in areas of studio camera operation, audio for television, and television directing, with an emphasis on underlying principles of video technology. Prerequisite: COMM 1335.

COMM 2325 Audio Production
A basic course dealing with the fundamentals of audio recording production for radio, television, and film. Includes production of public service announcements, commercials, radio news, and dramatic spots. Prerequisite: COMM 1335.

DRAM 2366 Film Appreciation
Analysis of the visual, aural, dramatic, thematic, and structural aspects of motion pictures that best depict the cinematic art. Film Appreciation: Honors - Please contact the Honors Department at 223-3255 or honors@austincc.edu for additional information.

RTVB 2388 Internship-Radio and Television Broadcasting Technology/Technician
A work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills and concepts. A learning plan is developed by the college and the employer. Prerequisite: COMM 1335, RTVB 1305, ENGL 1301, and COMM 1336.
