Jewelry classes are often taught in combined sections with beginning, intermediate, and advanced sections in the same class.

HRGY 1402 Jewelry Techniques II

HRGY 2433 Jewelry Casting II

HRGY 1401 Jewelry Techniques I
An introduction to basic techniques of jewelry repair, including layout, sawing, filing, emery, soldering, ring construction, and bezel setting. Emphasis on industry standards.
HRGY 1402 Jewelry Techniques II
Continuation of Jewelry Techniques I with emphasis on polishing. Prerequisite: HRGY 1401.
HRGY 1409 Jewelry Casting I
Emphasis on lost wax casting, both centrifugal and vacuum processes, including an introduction to wax carving and mold making. Prerequisite: HRGY 1401.
HRGY 1491 Special Topics in Watch, Clock, and Jewelry Repairer
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the jewelry technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. Topics initiated by students on current industry practices with instructor approval.
Jewelry Design/Techniques and Methods - Students will address current skills, knowledge and/or new technology pertinent to the Jewelry Industry in areas of special interest with the approval of the instructor. The emphasis will be on advanced techniques and methods of jewelry making and surface embellishment that will further the student’s knowledge of jewelry design and creation.
HRGY 2433 Jewelry Casting II
Continuation of Casting I. Includes instruction in mold making and vibratory finishing. Prerequisite: HRGY 1409.
