SONOGRAPHY
16 Week Session January 19 - May 16
DMSO 1342 Intermediate Ultrasound Physics
Continuation of Basic Ultrasound Physics. Includes interaction of ultrasound with tissues, mechanics of ultrasound production and display, various transducer designs and construction, quality assurance, bioeffects, and image artifacts. May introduce methods of Doppler flow analysis. Prerequisite: DMSO 1302.
DMSO 1461 Clinical-Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-Medical Sonography II
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Prerequisite: DMSO 1441, DMSO 1302, and DMSO 1260.
DSAE 1461 Clinical-Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-Echo II
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Prerequisite: DSAE 1415, DMSO 1302, and DSAE 1260.
DSVT 2335 Advanced Non-Invasive Vascular Technology
Non-invasive vascular concepts. Includes harmonics, contrast, power Doppler, digital intraoperative, intravascular, abdominal vascular, graft surveillance, vascular interventions, and research. Emphasizes extensive review of case studies, technical reporting, preliminary interpretation, and registry review. Prerequisite: DSVT 1300 and DSVT 2300.
DSAE 2404 Echocardiographic Evaluation of Pathology I
An emphasis on adult acquired cardiac pathologies. Topics include cardiovascular pathophysiology, quantitative measurements, and the application of 2-D, M-Mode, and Doppler. Recognition of the sonographic appearances of cardiovascular disease is stressed. Prerequisite: DSAE 1415, DMSO 1302, and DSAE 1260.
DMSO 2441 Sonography of Abdominopelvic Pathology
Pathologies and disease states of the abdomen and pelvis as related to scanning techniques, patient history and laboratory data, transducer selection, and scanning protocols. Emphasizes endocavitary sonographic anatomy and procedures including pregnancy. Prerequisite: DMSO 1441, DMSO 1302, and DMSO 1260.
DSVT 2463 Clinical - Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Sonographer and Ultrasound Technician-Vascular
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Prerequisite: DSVT 1300 and DSVT 2300.
