BMGT 1301 Supervision
A study of the role of the supervisor. Managerial functions as applied to leadership, counseling, motivation, and human skills are examined.
BUSI 1301 Business Principles
Introduction to the role of business in modern society. Includes overview of business operations, analysis of the specialized fields within the business organization, and development of a business vocabulary.
BMGT 1327 Principles of Management
Concepts, terminology, principles, theories, and issues in the field of management.
BMGT 1341 Business Ethics
Topics address ethical issues, the development of a moral frame of reference and the need for an awareness of social justices in management practices and business activities. A review of ethical responsibilities and relationships between organizational departments, divisions, executive management, and the public.
BMGT 1371 Sustainable/Green Business: Principles, Practices, Opportunities
BUSI 2301 Business Law I
The legal and social environment of business; contracts; personal property and bailments; and sales.
HRPO 2301 Human Resources Management
Behavioral and legal approaches to the management of human resources in organizations.
HRPO 2307 Organizational Behavior
The analysis and application of organizational theory, group dynamics, motivation theory, leadership concepts, and the integration of interdisciplinary concepts from the behavioral sciences.
BMGT 2309 Leadership
Concepts of leadership and its relationship to management. Prepares the student with leadership and communications skills needed to inspire and influence. This course may be taken as the capstone course for the Associate of Applied Science degree in Management. Prerequisite: 12 hours of courses from one or more of the following departments: management, marketing, finance or approval from a management department advisor.
BUSG 2309 Small Business Management
A course on how to start and operate a small business. Topics include facts about a small business, essential management skills, how to prepare a business plan, financial needs, marketing strategies, and legal issues.
BUSG 2317 Business Law/Commercial
The relationships of law and business as they relate to commercial transactions.
BUSG 2371 Business Statistics
A course designed for students majoring in business. Topics include organization of measurements, determining measures of central tendency, variability, counting, probability, statistical inference, hypothesis testing (large and small samples), simple and multiple regression and correlation, non-parametric methods, and time series. Prerequisite: MATH 1324, MATH 1314, or instructor approval.
BMGT 2388 Internship - Business Administration and Management, General I
Students will be employed at least 20 hours per week performing management duties. These duties will normally be at the supervisory management level and will apply skills and knowledge from previous courses. The student's internship objectives and project will be established by the instructor and employer supervisor. The student is required to attend the weekly one hour seminar and discussion class. Progress and final reports are required. Prerequisite: BUSI 1301 and BMGT 1303. Corequisites: Concurrent enrollment in another management or marketing course is required.
