DSAE 1415 Principles of Adult Echocardiography
An introduction to cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, including hemodynamics and spatial relationships of the normal adult heart. Topics include anatomical correlation of 2-D, M-Mode, and Doppler sonographic imaging. Scanning techniques are correlated and taught in the laboratory sessions. Prerequisite: DMSO 1110 and DMSO 1351.

DMSO 1441 Abdominopelvic Sonography
Normal anatomy and physiology of the abdominal and pelvic cavities as related to scanning techniques, transducer selection, and scanning protocols. Prerequisite: DMSO 1351, DMSO 1110.

DSVT 2300 Vascular Technology Applications
Non-invasive vascular technology. Includes 2-D imaging, Doppler, plethysmography, and segmental pressures. Emphasizes protocols for performing basic venous and arterial imaging and non-imaging exams. Prerequisite: DSVT 1300.

DSAE 2355 Echocardiography Professionalism and Registry Review
Explain the issues related to the echocardiography professional and the legal and ethical considerations of the profession; demonstrate appropriate ergonomic techniques for echocardiography; demonstrate registry preparedness; apply advanced instrumentation skills; and develop department management strategies and documents. Prerequisite: DMSO 1191, DSAE 2337, and DSAE 2362. Department approval.
