OSHT 1305 OSHA Regulations - Construction Industry
A study of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations pertinent to the construction industry.
CNBT 1342 Building Codes and Inspections
An examination of the building codes and standards applicable to building construction and inspection processes. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
CNBT 1359 Project Scheduling
A study of conventional scheduling using critical-path-method; precedence networks; bar charts; monthly reports; and fast track scheduling. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411.

CNBT 1391 Special Topics in Construction/Building Technology/Technician
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.
CNBT 1400 Residential and Light Commercial Blueprint Reading
Introductory blueprint reading for residential and light comercial construction. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411, CNBT 1402, CNBT 1413, and CRPT 1415.
WDWK 1400 Beginning Woodworking
The first course in a logical sequence of courses in which students learn to build wood projects using dados, rabbets, and tongue and groove joints.
CNBT 1402 Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Systems in Construction
A presentation of the basic mechanical, plumbing and electrical components in construction and their relationship to the overall building.
CNBT 1411 Construction Methods and Materials I
An introduction to construction materials and methods and their applications. This is a hands-on survey course which has four components: construction management, concrete/masonry, carpentry, and woodworking. Students learn to use math, blueprints, building specifications, optical leveling equipment, hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power tools in a sequence of learning activities designed for students to acquire entry level skills and knowledge of the construction industry.
CRPT 1411 Conventional Roof Systems
Study of the principles of design and construction of a conventional roof system incorporating gable, hip, and intersections. Emphasis on safe work practices and the selection, use and maintenance of tools and equipment. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 and CRPT 1415.
CNBT 1413 Concrete I
A study of the various techniques for concrete utilization in residential and light construction from the theoretical concepts of hydration to the practical experience of verifying site conditions, interpreting data used to establish conditions of level, square, plumb, parallel, and perpendicular, tying steel, and placing and finishing a concrete slab. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411.
WDWK 1413 Cabinet Making I
Design and construction of base cabinets and wall cabinets for kitchens and bathrooms. Emphasis on the safe use of portable and stationary power tools. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or WDWK 1400.
CRPT 1415 Conventional Wall Systems
Instruction on conventional wall and floor systems, and installation of trusses of wood frame construction. Topics include math to solve construction problems, identification of components, slab and building layout, build up of floor and wall members, construction of a floor and wall system and layout and installation of wood trusses. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
CRPT 1441 Conventional Exterior Finish Systems
Skill development in the installation of exterior finish systems and components including the placement and installation of cornice, windows, doors, siding, and flashing. Emphasis on safe work practices and the selection, use, and maintenance of tools and equipment. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
CNBT 1446 Construction Estimating I
Fundamentals of estimating materials and labor costs in construction. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 and CNBT 1400 or department approval.
CNBT 1491 Special Topics in Construction/Building Technology/Technician
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. Repeatable for credit. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
WDWK 1491 Special Topics in Cabinet Maker and Millworker
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. May be repeated for credit.
Furniture Construction - Students will build household furniture such as beds, dining tables, or futons as a course requirement. The focus will be joinery, wood selection, and construction practices will parallel industry standards. May be repeatable.
CNBT 2280 Cooperative Education - Construction Engineering Technology/Technician
Career related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
CNBT 2342 Construction Management I
Human relations management skills in motivation on the job site. Topics include written and oral communications, leadership and motivation, problem solving, and decision making. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
CNBT 2344 Construction Management II
A management course in contract documents, safety, planning, scheduling, production control, and law and labor. Topics include contracts, planning, cost and production peripheral documents, and cost and work analysis. Focus will be on the responsibilities and duties of a sub-contractor. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411 or department approval.
WDWK 2371 Woodworking Design and Specifications
A course designed to familiarize the advanced student with the competencies and skills required to interpret and draw details of woodworking joinery.
WDWK 2405 Intermediate Woodworking
The second course in a sequence of courses that allows students to refine skills required to build quality furniture. Prerequisite: WDWK 1413 and WDWK 1400.
CNBT 2417 Greenbuilding
Methods and materials used for buildings that conserve energy, water, and human resources. Prerequisite: CNBT 1411.
CNBT 2435 Computer-Aided Construction Scheduling
Advanced construction scheduling utilizing computer scheduling software to perform various scheduling procedures. Prerequisite: CNBT 2332 or department approval.
CNBT 2437 Construction Estimating II
Advanced estimating concepts using computer software programs for the construction and crafts. Prerequisite: CNBT 1446.
WDWK 2459 Advanced Woodworking
The third course in a sequence of courses in which students develop skills of building fine furniture. Emphasizes design and function. Students will build a quality piece of furniture. Prerequisite: WDWK 2405.
