SRGT 1144 Technological Sciences for the Surgical Technologist
In-depth coverage of specialized surgical modalities. Areas covered include endoscopy, microsurgery, therapeutic surgical energies, and other integrated science technologies. Prerequisite: BIOL 2404, HPRS 1206, and BIOL 2420 and admission into the Surgical Technology program. Corequisites: SRGT 1509, SRGT 1505, and SRGT 1160.

SRGT 1160 Clinical - Surgical Technology/Technologist: Beginning
A method of instruction providing detailed education, training and work-based experience and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Prerequisite: BIOL 2404; HPRS 1206; BIOL 2420; Admission into the Surgical Technology program. Corequisite: SRGT 1509, SRGT 1144, and SRGT 1505.

SRGT 1442 Surgical Procedures II
Introduction to surgical pathology and its relationship to surgical procedures. Emphasis on surgical procedures related to the thoracic, peripheral vascular, plastic/reconstructive, EENT, cardiac, and neurological surgical specialties incorporating instruments, equipment, and supplies required for safe patient care. Prerequisite: SRGT 1441 and SRGT 1660. Corequisite: SRGT 2660.

SRGT 1505 Introduction to Surgical Technology
Orientation to surgical technology theory, surgical pharmacology and anesthesia, technological sciences, and patient care concepts. Prerequisite: BIOL 2404, BIOL 2420, and HPRS 1206 and admission into the Surgical Technology program. Corequisite: SRGT 1509, SRGT 1144, and SRGT 1160.

SRGT 1509 Fundamentals of Perioperative Concepts and Techniques
In-depth coverage of perioperative concepts such as aseptic principles and practices, infectious processes, wound healing, and creation and maintenance of the sterile field. Prerequisite: HPRS 1206, BIOL 2420, and BIOL 2404 and admission into the Surgical Technology program. Corequisite: SRGT 1505, SRGT 1144, and SRGT 1160.

SRGT 2660 Clinical - Surgical Technology/Technologist: Advanced
A method of instruction providing detailed education, training and work-based experience and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Prerequisite: SRGT 1441 and SRGT 1660. Corequisite: SRGT 1442.
