DSSK 0012 Basic Study Skills
Designed to help students develop skills and habits needed for success in college. Covers goal setting; time management; note-taking; following directions; reading, organizing, and summarizing information for study purposes; interpreting graphs; test taking; and using the library. A modified course is offered in a one hour (DSSK 0011) and three hour (DSSK 0013) format. This course is not for college-level credit.

DSSK 0013 Basic Study Skills
Designed to help students develop skills and habits needed for success in college. Covers goal setting; time management; note-taking; following directions; reading, organizing, and summarizing information for study purposes; interpreting graphs; test taking; and using the library. DSSK 1013 College Study Skills
An advanced course in learning strategies. Covers principles of learning strategies. Covers academic tasks such as problem-solving; note-taking; following directions; reading, organizing, and summarizing information for study purposes; interpreting graphs; test taking; and using the library. The same course is offered in a one hour (DSSK 0011) and two hour (DSSK 0012) format. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in DEVR 1313 or one of the following scores: Compass Reading Test 81 or above; CPT Reading Test 78 or above; or Asset Reading Test 41 or above.
