Course Descriptions All Courses
ANTH 2301 Physical Anthropology
An introduction to the study of the bio/cultural diversity of humans. The interaction between culture and biology produces a variety of human biological adaptations that are traced through the following avenues: the fossil record of primates, primate behavior, and the genetic makeup of modern populations.

ANTH 2302 Introduction to Archaeology
This course covers archaeological techniques for reconstructing ancient societies. Emphasis is placed on archaeological questions, scientific methods, and culture change.

ANTH 2351 Cultural Anthropology
This course introduces the student to a holistic study of culture. The major elements of human social behavior, material culture, and cultural diversity are studied as adaptations to social and environmental change--past and present.

ANTH 2389 Academic Cooperative in Anthropology
Integrates on-campus study with practical hands-on experience in anthropology. In conjunction with class seminars, the student will set specific goals and objectives in the study of anthropology, especially archaeological methods and processes. Prerequisite: ANTH 2302.
