Reports To

Job Purpose
To administer and coordinate College-wide electronic communications systems including email distribution systems, email and website accounts; develops and maintains database driven web programs that allow the Help Desk to support system internet users.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains account information for email accounts, websites, and email distribution lists in the Information Technology internet services database.
Updates internet services database using information from the College administrative computing system; extracts data for server and database maintenance.
Responds to inquiries and resolves issues regarding email, websites, and LISTSERVs for account users.
Coordinates with the Help Desk to develop guidelines and procedures for providing and improving services to end users.
Designs, codes, and tests scripts and web programs for Help Desk user support.
Conducts research on products to enhance web services including web statistics software.
Creates email accounts and adds user login authorization names and passwords to email server; sends notifications and instructions to new account holders.
Changes usernames and passwords; removes accounts from email server.
Creates website accounts and adds user login authorization names and passwords to web server; sends notifications and instructions to new account holders.
Sets up pointers to website locations.
Allocates server disk space for email and website accounts.
Develops and manages faculty, group, and College-wide email distribution lists; adds new list information to database and/or changes the way the list is set up.

Computer Skills
Required
Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications and query and control languages, server operating systems, database management systems; systems administration, and providing desktop software support.
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Work Experience
Required
Two years information technology/server administration work experience.
Education
Required
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer information systems, or related field.
