Analyst, Senior Compensation
Reports To
Manager, Compensation
Job Purpose
Performs complex compensation research and analysis by gathering and interpreting data; participates in external salary surveys; conducts salary placements; and makes job offers. Serves as backup in absence of Compensation Manager.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts analysis of qualifications and work experience for salary placement for new Classified and Professional-Technical staff and Full-time Faculty based on canddiate's experience and requirements of position. Determines qualifications of education and work experience and extends offers of employment to candidates.
Processes and calculates educational and work experience qualification analysis and interpretation for annual Adjunct Faculty placement process. Plans, coordinates and documents all aspects of the annual placement process.
Conducts market surveys for Full-time and Adjunct Faculty to determine the College''s market relationship; participates in faculty related surveys and calculates statistical reports; conducts interviews, researches and analyzes information identifying options, and formulates solutions and provides follow-up ensuring goals and quality results are satisfied. Provides data for annual Budget process.
Assists with employee understanding of compensation policy issues. Drafts communications and makes training presentations.
Conducts detailed salary research; verifies data and information; conducts analysis and computations; creates reports, identifies trends, and determines salaries.
Reviews and approves position descriptions for advertising vacant positions.
Writes draft job descriptions, suggesting changes and updates.
Processes and calculates Temporary Assignment Pay (TAP) for employees that meet requirements and monitors payments to avoid overpayment. Compiles and presents annual TAP report.
Processes Position Change and Budget Approval requests.
Assists with special compensation and classification projects and programs.

Required
Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications and intermediate skill using Excel.

Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
Work is routinely performed in an office environment
Work Experience
Required
Two years related work experience as a Compensation Analyst.
Preferred
More than two years work experience with a compensation and classification system.
Education
Required
Bachelor's degree.
Other
Preferred
ACC Administrative rules, policies, and procedures, board policies, procedural guidelines, Human Resources Employee Handbook, and/or Employment and Compensation Information Guide. Advanced software skills in Excel and Datatel.
