VNSG 1160 - Clinical - Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Training: Introductory (1-0-4)
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. With emphasis on clinical reasoning, nursing process and caring behaviors, the student is introduced to the role of the vocational nurse as member of the profession, member of the health care team, provider of patient-centered care, and patient safety advocate. Clinical experiences provide the opportunity for students to apply foundation nursing concepts and basic nursing skills necessary to provide safe care for the elderly patient.
