MLAB 2063 - Clinical-Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician--Molecular Diagnostics
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Integrated with college credit MLAB 2263.
 
PLAB 1023 - Phlebotomy
Skill development in the performance of a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and universal precautions. Includes vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture specimen collection on adults, children, and infants. Emphasis on infection prevention, proper patient identification, labeling of specimens and quality assurance, specimen handling, processing, and accessioning. PLAB 1066 - Phlebotomy Practicum
An individualized plan for training and experiences as a Phlebotomy Technician at times and locations to be determined by the instructor, facility and student. Prior approval required. Prerequisites: PLAB 1023. Integrated with college credit PLAB 1166. Meets requirements for Marketable Skills Achievement Program.
