RENEWABLE ENERGY SPECIALIZATION
Associate of Applied Science Degree
The Renewable Energy Specialization Degree plan prepares students to become technicians or technologists for the broad and rapidly growing renewable energy industries. Emphasis is placed on photovoltaic technology but solar thermal, wind, and geothermal power are also covered. Students are required to take courses in Electronics, electromechanical systems, data acquisition, power safety, as well as PV, solar thermal, wind, and geothermal power. This degree prepares students to apply for companies that install, maintain, monitor, and even design these systems and materials. As the need for electrical power has continued to increase dramatically both domestically and internationally, the demand for renewable energy sources has also increased and is expected to continue doing so.
To receive an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics and Advanced Technologies, students must: (a) make a minimum grade of "C" in all required electronic, math, and science courses and (b) have an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.
