Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design

CIVIL SPECIALIZATION

Associate of Applied Science Degree

ACCTech

This program is intended for students pursuing careers in the Civil CAD Drafting and Design Specialization, or by students preparing to transfer to university civil programs. Civil CAD drafters work with civil engineers and designers in the preparation of drawings necessary for civil engineering, surveying or construction projects. Study of local design criteria is important to the education of a civil drafter. Some civil drafters specialize in creating drawings for publish works, survey maps, land development, transportation, pipe utilities and others. Students who choose the Civil Specialization career track are employed by organizations that offer services to the Architectural, Engineering, Construction, and/or Surveying industries. These may include working for a Professional Engineer, Land Surveyor or Governmental Agency. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design faculty advisor before pursuing this degree program.
