PHL 1613 INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY (3-3-0). A study of the nature of philosophy and various traditions. Includes a study of major western philosophers, philosophical problems, and critical thinking. Skills: R (PHIL 1301)

PHL 1623 ETHICS (3-3-0). A study of the principles of morality with a critical examination of various ethical theories and their application to contemporary moral issues. Skills: R (PHIL 2306)

PHL 1633 LOGIC (3-3-0). A study of the rules of argument, inductive and deductive reasoning, the recognition of informal and formal fallacies, and the application of logical thinking in work and social situations. Skills: R (PHIL 2303)

PHL 1643 PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION (3-3-0). An analysis of the concept of God, the nature of religion and religious experience with an emphasis on such themes as the problem of evil, rationality and religious belief, and arguments for and against the concept of a deity. Skills: R (PHIL 2321)
