MKT 1013 PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING (3-3-0). A study of the activities involved in marketing designed to provide both conceptual and practical knowledge. Emphasis is placed on the marketing concept, the various marketing activities, and the important role marketing plays in our society. Skills: R

MKT 1023 PRINCIPLES OF SALESMANSHIP (3-3-0). A practical examination of successful practices and techniques used in personal selling. Emphasis is on communications and selling skills used to develop long term customer relations, based on understanding and providing solutions to customer needs. A variety of sales-oriented topics are included to enhance skills in customer and account management. Industrial and organizational sales are emphasized. Skills: R (BUSI 1311)

MKT 1043 CONSUMER BEHAVIOR (3-3-0). A study of how marketing meets consumer needs. Covers consumer behavior as it affects marketing. Topics include needs, motivations, perceptions, and attitudes of consumers, and the influence of social class, culture and subculture on consumer behavior and behavior research. Skills: R

MKT 2013 PRINCIPLES OF ADVERTISING (3-3-0). A study of the fundamental principles and practices employed in modern advertising. Emphasizes management and planning, creating, and use of advertising in various media. Skills: R (COMM 2327)

MKT 2023 RETAIL MANAGEMENT (3-3-0). Provides general coverage of the environment and the social impact of retailing. Examines retailing opportunities, pricing and promotional strategies, merchandise management, buying and handling merchandise, personnel management, sources and application of funds, retailing services, and techniques for planning growth in a retail firm. Attention given to government regulations and social responsibility of retailers. Skills: R

MKT 2033 CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS (3-3-0). A study of the elements of mercantile and consumer credit. Emphasis is placed on the organization of a credit department, sources of credit information, and the tools and procedures of collection. Skills: R

MKT 2043 RETAIL STRATEGIES (3-3-0). Concepts and methods in establishing and reviewing retail strategies in a changing environment. Emphasis will be placed on leadership and teamwork between management and employees in order to establish a realistic retailing strategies in a competitive environment. Cases will be utilized in the development of a retail marketing plan. Skills: R

MKT 2053 PRINCIPLES OF PURCHASING (3-3-0). A basic and detail study of the fundamentals of purchasing activities of both profit and non-profit activities. Topics include purchasing procedures, ethical standards in purchasing, evaluating potential vendors, pricing principles and cost analysis, types of ordering agreements, negotiations, contract administration and supplier management. Skills: R

MKT 2063 PRINCIPLES OF MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (3-3-0). A detail study of the principles and applications of materials management in both the industrial and the governmental environment. Topics include materials management and its relationship to strategy and planning, customer service, order processing and information systems, inventory policies, warehousing, transportation and just in time delivery. MKT 2073 PUBLIC RELATIONS (3-3-0). A study of the functions and skills involved in public relations that apply to various businesses, voluntary and governmental agencies, and activities. Specific coverage involves press agentry, marketing, merchandising, promotions, handling crises, and the social responsibilities of those involved in public relations. Skills: R

MKT 2083 MARKETING RESEARCH (3-3-0). A basic and practical study of management decisions making based on marketing research. The process by which market studies are designed, market data is developed, collected, analyzed, interpreted and presented is studied and usefully applied. Basic mathematical data analysis techniques are discussed with major emphasis on real life and practical applications of marketing research materials.

MKT 2093 ADVANCED ADVERTISING (3-3-0). An advanced managerial approach to advertising programs and campaign development for both profit and non-profit organizations. Emphasis on advertising strategy as a component of the total market mix. Student will apply research techniques to target market identification, media planning, budgeting and creative execution. A complete campaign will be designed for a client. Teamwork and leadership characteristics will be incorporated. Skills: R

MKT 2103 ADVANCED MARKETING MANAGEMENT (3-3-0). A study that emphases marketing strategy and competitive strategy. Includes how marketing management leadership must incorporate long-term company goals and how all functional areas of a firm such as production, logistics, finance, and engineering have to be interrelated to achieve the firm's objectives. Skills: R

MKT 2113 INTERNATIONAL MARKETING (3-3-0). A practical and detail study of planning and conducting transactions across national boarders. Includes the study of international trade concepts, cultural dynamics, business customs, multinational markets, developing markets, influence political, legal and geographic factors on international marketing. Skills: R

MKT 2123 TOTAL QUALITY SERVICE (3-3-0). An advanced managerial approach to customer service. Designed to present the concept of total quality marketing, service and management to the student. An in depth study that will build on the key issues of customer focus, total employee involvement and leadership in the relations to customer service. Case studies of successful companies will be discussed and reviewed. Skills: R

MKT 2223 MARKETING INTERNSHIP (3-1-20). Students will be employed at least 20 hours per week in a field of marketing of their choosing. Concurrent enrollment in another marketing course is required. The student's internship objectives will be established by the instructor, the internship supervisor, and the student. A semester research project is required. Prerequisites: MKT 1013, MKT 1043, and MKT 2013.
