1 Foreign language hours must be in the same language.
2 The first semester communications course must be chosen from the following: JRN 1603, SPE 1603 or SPE 1613.
3 The second semester communications course must be chosen from the following: ENG 1653, JRN 1613, or SPE 1623.
4 The third semester communications course must be chosen from the following: JRN 1623, SPE 2613 or SPE 2623, ENG 1663, or any literature course not being taken to satisfy the literature requirement.
5 The literature course must be chosen from the following: ENG 2613, ENG 2623, ENG 2633, ENG 2643, ENG 2653, ENG 2663, ENG 2713, ENG 2723.
6 The course for the Humanities/Fine Arts requirement must be chosen from the following: ART 1723, ART 1733, DNC 1623, DRM 1613, HUM 1603, HUM 1613, MUS 1753, MUS 2013, PHL 1613, PHL 1623, RLG 1623, RTF 1613, RTF 1623.
7 The Math/Natural Science requirement may be satisfied by any Math/Natural Science course from the General Core Curriculum Course List.
8 Although electives may be taken from any program, students intending to continue their study at a four-year college or university should choose electives from Arts & Sciences courses. Students who plan to transfer and continue their study of English, Journalism, or Speech at a four year institution should refer to the catalog of the institution to which they plan to transfer and consult with an ACC counselor and/or full-time ACC instructor in Communications

3 The second semester Restricted Electives must be chosen from the following list: RTF 1613, any ENG 1653, JRN 1613.
4 Any 3 hours of core curriculum math (depending on science requirements of the four-year institution to which the student will be transferring). Student should first consult with a mathematics advisor.
5 Humanities/Fine Arts/Literature electives must be taken in the Creative Writing Area.
6 Any 3 hours of core curriculum science (depending on science requirements of the four-year institution to which the student will be transferring). Student should first consult with a science advisor.
7 Minimum of 1 hour of written performance lab required for major.
8 Select from course work for program.
Prerequisites: ENG 1613 must be completed before ENG 1623, ENG 1613 and ENG 1623 must be completed before taking any Literature course.
To be eligible to enroll in a foreign language course, it is required that any indicated prerequisite course be completed with a grade of C or better (this includes both courses taken at ACC and course credit transferred from other institutions).
