GOVERNMENT
Associate of Arts Degree

The Associate of Arts degree in Government is intended to provide students with the first two years of government courses and to prepare them for transfer to an institution that grants a baccalaureate degree.

Students who plan to transfer to an institution which grants a baccalaureate degree in order to continue their study of government should refer to the catalog of that institution and consult with an ACC instructor of government.

1 Select from: HIST 1301, HIST 2301, HIST 2327, or HIST 2381. HIST 2301 and HIST 2381 may only be taken once.
2 Select from the following: SPCH 1311, SPCH 1315, SPCH 1318.
3 Foreign language hours must be taken in the same language.
4 Select from the appropriate section of the Core Curriculum Course List.
5 Select from the ENGL courses listed in the Humanities section of the core curriculum.
6 Select from courses in ANTH, ECON, GEOG, PSYC, SOCI.
7 Students must have completed both GOVT 2305 and GOVT 2306 with a passing grade before enrolling in GOVT 2304, GOVT 2311, or GOVT 2389.
8 Unrestricted Electives: Although these courses may be selected from any program, students planning to transfer to an institution for a baccalaureate degree are advised to choose electives which will be applicable to their baccalaureate degree.
