FY 2009 Degree Plan

Business Administration is designed to prepare the student for transfer to a four-year university baccalaureate program. In addition to business courses, the curriculum includes math, science, social sciences, and humanities. All the courses in this degree plan must be taken and passed in order to earn the Associate of Science in Business Administration. The order, given below, in which these courses should be taken, is just a suggestion. Students may take the courses in any order they want to except for those courses that require a course prerequisite (+). The Business Administration degree is a transfer degree based on the 42-hour Core Curriculum and Business Field of Study Curriculum, and represents the first two years of a four-year degree and will vary from university to university. Students transferring should always consult with an advisor or articulation officer from their receiving institution.

¹ Choose from the following: BUSG 2371, MATH 1342 or BUSI 2301. It is recommended that students without a prior business course or business experience enroll in BUSI 1301. Students should consult with their receiving institution about which business courses will apply to their intended four-year degree plan.
² BCIS 1305 is the preferred course per the Business Field of Study Curriculum. Computer Information Management and Management Information Systems majors should consult with an academic advisor.
³ Students should first consult with an ACC mathematics instructor for placement and to determine which of the following two-semester course sequence options will count towards a degree at the four-year school to which they intend to transfer. Typical sequences are MATH 1324 followed by MATH 1425 or MATH 1425 followed by MATH 1476. Students with strong math backgrounds may use the sequence MATH 2413 followed by MATH 2414. Students may also use MATH 1314 followed by MATH 1425, however since College Algebra does not count towards most four-year degree plans, students using this option will usually need to complete at least one additional math course. Students should consult with their receiving institution about which math courses will apply to their intended four-year degree plan.
