RNSG 1341 COMMON CONCEPTS IN ADULT HEALTH (3-3-1). Study of the general principles of caring for selected adult clients and families in structured settings with common medical-surgical health care needs related to each body system. RNSG 1362 CLINICAL - NURSING - REGISTERED NURSE TRAINING: NURSING II (3-0-12). A basic, intermediate, or advanced type of health professions work-based instruction that helps students synthesize new knowledge, apply previous knowledge, or gain experience managing the workflow. Practical experience is simultaneously related to theory. Close and/or direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional (faculty or preceptor), generally in a clinical setting. RNSG 1412 NURSING CARE OF THE CHILDBEARING AND CHILDREARING FAMILY (4-4-1). Study of the concepts related to the provision of nursing care for childbearing and childrearing families; application of systematic problem-solving processes and critical thinking skills, including a focus on the childbearing family during preconception, prenatal, antipartum, neonatal, and postpartum periods and the childrearing family from birth to adolescence; and competency in knowledge, judgment, skill, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework, pediatric settings; and utilize a systematic problem-solving approach and critical thinking skills when providing nursing care for the childbearing and childrearing family. RNSG 1413 FOUNDATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE (4-3-3). Introduction to the role of the professional nurse as a provider of care, coordinator of care, and member of profession. Topics include but are not limited to the fundamental concepts of nursing practice, history of professional nursing, a systematic framework for decision-making, mechanisms of disease, the needs and problems that nurses help patients manage, and basic psychomotor skills.
