Anthropology

ANTHROPOLOGY
Associate of Arts Degree

The Associate of Arts degree in Anthropology provides students with the first two years of coursework towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology, preparing them for transfer to an institution that grants a baccalaureate degree. This degree plan offers a broad background of liberal arts courses transferable to a four-year institution, focusing on the cultural and biological diversity of the human species.

Students who plan to transfer to an institution that grants a baccalaureate degree to continue their study of anthropology should refer to the catalog of that institution for their degree requirements and consult with an ACC instructor of anthropology.

ARCHAEOLOGY
Associate of Science Degree

The Associate of Science degree in Archaeology provides students with the first two years of coursework towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology with a specialization in archaeology. This degree plan offers a broad background of liberal arts and science courses transferable to a four-year institution, focusing on the archaeological, cultural, and biological diversity of the human species. Students who plan to transfer to an institution that grants a baccalaureate degree to continue their study of archaeology should refer to the catalog of that institution for their degree requirements and consult with an ACC instructor of archaeology. To receive an Associate of Science in Archaeology, students must: (a) make a minimum grade of "C" in all required anthropology, math and science courses and (b) have an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.
