Associate of Applied Science Degree

This option is for the student desiring a production-based degree and offers a synthesis of manipulative skills and technical knowledge. Its versatility allows the graduate to pursue a career as a code welder, or to work in supervision by utilizing technical competence acquired from academic course work.

ART METALS
Associate of Applied Science Degree

The student will receive traditional training in the arts, as well as experience and theory in welding technology and industrial applications. An additional feature of this interdisciplinary degree is the opportunity for the artist to achieve cetifiation as a welder in order to gain access to an established employemtn market and a practical means of livelihood.

Certificate

This certificate provides training and shop experience in welding and fabricating plate. It prepares the student for immediate, entry-level employment with minimum training. All courses may be applied towards the Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology with a specialization in Code Welding.

INSPECTION
Certificate

This is an advanced skills certificate which prepares the student for the challenging and diverse field of welding inspection. Graduates who are qualified cna take the AWS QC-1 national welding inspector examination administered by the American Welding Society. All courses may be applied towards the Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology with a specialization in Code Welding.


JEWLELRY FABRICATION
Certificate

Following are the courses required for the Certificate in Jewelry Fabrication. It will provide the student with training in the skills used in the jewelry industry. The student will learn essential methods for the production and repair of jewelry. All of the course can be applied towards the Associate of Applied Science degree in Welding Technology with a specialization in Art Metals.
