0 Students who plan to transfer and continue their study of history at a four-year institution should refer to the catalog of the institution to which they plan to transfer and consult with a full-time ACC history instructor. To satisfy the legislative requirement, a student must take 6 hours of Amerrican History with a grade of C or better. Students may select from HIST 1301, HIST 2381, HIST 2380, HIST 1302, HIS 1643, HIS 1663, HIST 2301, or HIST 2341. Courses may be taken in any order. You may take HIST 1302 (or its equivalents) before HIST 1301 (or its equivalent).
1 HIST 2301 may be taken only once but HIST 2341 may be repeated for credit when the topic varies.
2 Foreign language hours must be taken in the same language.
3 General Electives: Although these courses may be selected from any program, students planning to transfer to a four­year institution are advised to choose electives from Arts and Sciences courses applicable to their four­year degree. Students are encouraged to satisfy the Speech, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral section of the Core Curriculum.
4 Please select from the Natural Science section of the General Education Course list.
5 Please select from the Humanities section of the Core Curriculum Course list.
6 General Electives: If students are beginning the study of a foreign language in their first year of college, it is recommended they continue this foreign language through the fourth semester level.
