FIT 2203 INSTRUCTION IN LIFESTYLE CHANGES (3-3-1). Health risk appraisals and their application to lifestyle change are covered. The components of weight control, smoking cessation, and stress management programs and the principles of exercise adherence are studied. Techniques in behavior modification, motivation, teaching, and counseling are addressed, and behavior change as lifestyle change is emphasized. FIT 2204 FITNESS AND EXERCISE TESTING (4-3-3). Techniques for conducting physical fitness assessments are studied. Tests of cardio-respiratory fitness, muscular strength and endurance, joint flexibility, body composition, and pulmonary capacity are included. The course includes an introduction to electrocardiography and exercise prescription. Safety guidelines and precautions are emphasized. Equipment use and maintenance are covered. FIT 2404 APPLIED PHYSICAL FITNESS TECHNOLOGY III (CAPSTONE) (4-1-18). Provides field experience in a club setting that emphasizes the principles learned in the program's course offerings. Planning individual and group fitness programs and special events is addressed in addition to management concerns that are appropriate to the field experience. Prerequisites: FIT 2302 and FIT 2312.
