COSC 1301 PERSONAL COMPUTING (3-2-2). A hands-on course for the development of skills needed to use personal computer systems for business, individual, and educational applications. Learn word processing, database management, spreadsheet development, and how to use the operating system. Keyboarding skills are not required, but are helpful. May not be applied toward a CSC degree. Fee: $12 Skills: R (CSC 1003)

CSC 1013 ADVANCED PERSONAL COMPUTING (3-2-2). Students learn to use the three software applications of word processing, database management, and spreadsheet development at an advanced level. Case studies may be used to integrate software packages. The course also includes an in-depth study of a disk operating system. Fee: $12 Skills: R Prerequisites: CSC 1003 or CIS 1003 (for CIS majors only) or Instructor approval.

CSC 1044 ADVANCED PROGRAMMING CONCEPTS (4-3-3). Investigation of techniques for program design, testing, and debugging. Data structures are studied including stacks, queues, linked lists and binary trees. Searching, sorting, recursion, strings, and arrays are also covered. Taught in an appropriate high-level language. Fee: $12 Prerequisites: CIS 2003

CSC 2074 ADVANCED ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE PROGRAMMING (4-3-3). Study of applications (advanced and sophisticated) using assembly language. Emphasizes data handling and manipulation, I/O procedures and routines, and assemblies and loaders. Fee: $16 Prerequisites: CIS 1064.
