Building Construction Technology

This program provides the hands­on learning experience of all phases of residential construction. Instructional activities include tool use, blueprint reading, concrete construction, carpentry, cabinetry, masonry, roofing, wiring, plumbing, interior finishing, and construction management. The BCT department offers an AAS degree in Construction Management with the following major areas of concentration: Carpentry, Concrete/Masonry, Cabinetry/Interior Finishing, and Building Maintenance.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Associate of Applied Science Degree

Austin Community College's Building Construction Technology program is a Tech Prep program participant. High school students may receive college credit for approved course taken during high school. Tech Prep students may receive an AAS degree, a one year certificate, or an Enhanced Skills certificate along with all other students. Articulating Tech Prep courses include BCT 1014, BCT 1034, BCT 1044, BCT 1054, BCT 1064, BCT 2094, BCT 2244 and CSC 1003. High School students should discuss these options with their school counselor. All BCT students should contact a BCT advisor. Course may be taken concurrently upon approval of a BCT advisor.
